  1. Wonderful and welcoming experience, the pizza was amazing and sets a really high bar for Chicago styled pizza. It was busy but we were seated almost immediately. Our server was friendly and our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu and made excellent recommendations. Pizza took about 45-60 minutes but was well worth the wait. Definitely will be returning for another great meal.

Nice place for large groups. Cool decor. Feels like it has been there forever. We ordered the wings on happy hour with the dry rub for $5. Can’t go wrong. Mozzarella sticks are plenty. Happy happy hour. Thin crust was crunchy delicious. Order a bottle of wine! Great pairings. Service was a little slow at first but once things got going she was awesome.

Gino’s East wasn’t my favorite. The pizza was just ok. The crust was too thick for my taste (I much prefer the thickness of Giordano’s) and reminded me of Bisquick with its granularity. They didn’t use nearly enough cheese either. I also removed a star for refusing to give out plastic straws, even upon request. I’ve been to too many restaurants with lip marks on the glass to ever trust drinking from them directly again.

Absolute scam. A weekday happy hour menu is littered over the hostess stand. It is only after the bill is presented you are made aware that the prices are honoured on the 3rd floor only. Nearly 3 times the price for the “specials” is serreptitiously added to your bill. The server’s response was so rapid-fire it clearly comes up all the time. Not her fault, shame on the management and owners for ripping people off. Steer clear. Take heart that some lawyer will latch on to this for false advertising.

The pizza is not good at all. The crust is a dry piece of bark and it doesn’t taste any better than something I can make at home. We had the Buffalo Mac and cheese as an appetizer and it was also trash: Basic noodles with what looked like soupy velveeta cheese. They also put out a happy hour sign only to tell us that’s not happening on the roof because of a private party….so then don’t put out the sign. I’m only giving two stars because our server was cordial and she was prompt. 8/31/18.
