The restaurant celebrated the National Hot Dog Week by offering two hot dogs of all kinds for $5, which was pretty a bargain. The hot dog includes mustard, relish, celery salt, freshly chopped onions, sliced red ripe tomatoes, kosher pickle, and sport peppers piled onto a steamed poppy seed bun. The crinkle-cut french fries were quite tasty. But most delicious of all, the famous Portillo’s Chocolate Cake was fluffy and daily made in each restaurant. Each double-layer chocolate cake was generously iced with two pounds of rich, chocolate frosting. The service was quick. I would come back here to try other items on the menu.

This place has a great ambiance! You walk in and your senses are flooded. There is so much visually to take in. Lots of great vintage art pieces and a fabulous setup for ordering.

Your sense of smell is also in for a treat. This place serves up some great Chicago style fare. Come hungry and prepare to come back again and again to try more on the menu because everything is tasty!

There are different stations that will prepare the specific food you order. There is a hot food area, a salad area, dessert area and drink area as well.

The employees work very well together to ensure all orders are processed in a timely fashion. I was very impressed at how polite and friendly the staff were and patient as well as it was our first visit.

If you are visiting Chicago, this is one of the must go to stops for satisfying your hunger and eating where the locals dine.

The atmosphere, design, decorating and staff make this place a true success story. They deserve top marks for this store.

I wish they would build one near my neighbourhood so that I could go more frequently.

One of the best restaurants we visited while in Chicago and highly recommended from the locals we spoke with.

What can I say about Portillo‘s? They have the fast food and drive through system worked out to a science. The food is always hot and cooked exactly to your specifications. One should never be scared off by a long drive through line because it truly does go quickly. It’s actually a marvel to see how many people work the line and how quickly they get the orders out. And I love how though they are hotdog place they have a variety of food. Whether at a meal time or a random time during the day I have never had a bad experience at Portillo‘s.

Food is always great. I got the Italian beef with garlic bread and hot peppers, with extra gravy on the side. Very delicious and fairly priced. The lines can get long during lunch and dinner hours. The Chicago style hotdog is great as well. Parking is ample. Service is great.

Great Chicago style dog. It was filling and delicious. Next time I’ll have to try your Italian beef sandwich. Great location and beautiful and clean store. Fabulous employees. It was very easy to catch Lyft from there as well.
